Lifelong Learning

Through an affiliation with Nazareth College, Summit residents may continue their quest for lifelong learning. Residents may audit courses on the Nazareth College campus, with our transportation getting them to and from class, if they desire. Be prepared for doing homework and writing papers!

Nazareth staff and faculty also bring lectures and mini-courses right to The Summit for the convenience of our residents. Typically 4, one-hour sessions, course series that have been especially popular with residents include:

  • China in the 20th & Early 21st Century
  • Sociology: Social Influences on Falling & Being in Love
  • Detective Fiction
  • Music History
  • History of Film
  • Short Acting Class with a Performance

Our cultural arts coordinator also plans educational series, such as the Strong Museum of Play Lecture Series, featuring sessions on Margaret Woodbury Strong, Toys in the National Toy Hall of Fame, and The Face on the Lunch Box: 100 Years of Character Products.
